Nope, not handicapped

I had an argument with the driver of this car. He pulled right into the Starbucks Parking Lot in Saratoga Old Town, parked in a handicapped space, and went into the Starbucks to order a drink. No, he wasn't handicapped. He swore at me and called me a jerk for complaining about HIS parking in a handicapped space. Yes, there was vacant street spots 50 feet away. Then he sped off out of the parking lot. I guess if you are young, rude and have the California License Plate 4HPK997 (with expired tags) the world is your oyster.

Pig Drivers Never Take a Holiday

Pig Driver Behavior

Dear Mister Road Show:

I call them pig-drivers. These are the drivers who tail gate me when I am driving the speed limit in the right hand lane even on a four-lane road and they have plenty of room to pass. Pig-drivers can also be seen exiting freeways by cutting across multiple lanes to shoot off an exit at the last minute. In parking lots, pig-drivers often will grab two parking spaces by parking with the white line going down the middle of their vehicle, no matter how crowded the lot is.

Yesterday, I was hoping the pig drivers would take the day off, since it was drive the speed limit day. As I drove to work, heading north up the Almaden Expressway at the speed limit, the pig-drivers were there doing their normal pig-driver stuff. They were tailgaiting and others were zipping past me on the left just to cut in front of me then slam on their brakes right in front of me to make a right turn. On the way home it was the same thing. You only live once and the pig-drivers were as focused as ever on getting it over with as fast as possible.

In short, the pig-drivers did not take a holiday. They were still out there, driving like idiots, their cell phones still as firmly glued to the sides of their heads as ever. They are out there still.

Pig with a Lexus

Camera Phone Post: Pig with a Lexus
I went to Kaiser this morning. It is always hard to park there. The lot was jammed packed and this pig took two spaces! It took me a long time to get a space. What an arrogant jerk! It was two compact spaces too. This is another example of an ugly American.

No shortage of rude motorists

Big car, small space
The university has an abundant supply of small spaces and drivers who drive huge cars. Even when other spaces are available, drivers of land yachts will cram into the small spaces to save themselves from having to walk an extra 100 feet a day. I wonder if they are ticketed by University Police? Since they seem to do it day after day, I doubt it.

Where did all these pigs come from?

Parking space hog
Never mind the environmental impact of driving these gas hogs! This driver had the nerves to hog two space in this crowded parking lot at SJSU. There are a lot of pigs out there.

I have this theory. My theory is if you want to get to work on time, leave early! I drive to work down Almaden Expressway in San Jose. I drive an economy car and drive the speed limit in the far right lane. There is no reason to drive like an idiot. It has a 45 mph speed limit. Most traffic goes 60 mph in the morning. Even though I have two lanes to my left I often have an idiot, usually driving big either a big pickup or a SUV (often a Lexus) getting right on my back bumper trying to bully me into speeding or pulling off the road. I just lock my cruise control at 45mph. I have had them honk at me! This is nuts.

We cannot become part of the problem. I say don't give in to these bullys!

Here is a little story. Today we were on a club bike ride. We were stopped in the left turn. A car pulls up in the lane to our right. The driver stops at the light, opens the door and dumps a pile of trash in the street. Then the light turns green and she drives away. She did not seem to care that we were standing right next to her or that we were yelling at her. She forgot to throw away the trash behind the wheel.
